Certificate Request Processor: The system cannot find the file specified

What does this error mean?

c:\Users\Administrator\Documents>certreq.exe -submit -attrib "CertificateTemplate:WebServer" certreq.req
Active Directory Enrollment Policy
{9C38F712-49F4-45FB-AD5E-F44BFE9BAB92}
ldap:
Certificate Request Processor: The system cannot find the file specified. 0x80070002 (WIN32: 2)

It means the Active Directory Certificate Services role isn’t installed. Install that and your problem will go away.

    1. Hello Ravi, yeah sounds like the error message I got, have you tried installing the Active Directory Certificate Services role like I mentioned in my post?

      I’ve updated my post to include a image of me installing the role.

      If you have done this step, I’m not sure, my research showed this to be the reason for that error message. Have you any more information?
